This time around there will be monsters, AKA “Feels.”

Well hello there!

I’m back, with another iteration of “Do The Damn Thing,” where I coach/mentor a pod of people into writing blog posts, specifically, 8 blog posts in 14 days! This post is a catch-all for all of the info, so feel free to use CTRL+F to find relevant info on pricing, changes, etc.

Let’s Talk About Feelings

Do you have lots of ideas of blog posts you want to write, but because of procrastination/self-doubt/etc you just.. haven’t?

Together you, plus ~7 other adventurous souls, will join a secret Facebook group, wherein you’ll be coached, mentored and sharply prodded to write, dang it! Overall, this program is designed to help you get over yourself.

I said it, I meant it, now let me explain it:

You need to get over yourself. Specifically, you need to get over the need for everything to be PERFECT. You’re going to dislike/hate some of the stuff you write, but you’re still going to post it.

Tag yourself, I’m “Scream of Despair”!

You know why? Because:

Accountability + Consequences = Success

  • Accountability: We’ll have daily workshops/troubleshooting/and coaching from moi, plus a Facebook group with ~10 folks doing the program. (Cap is 10, first come first serve.)
  • Consequences: You will pick a nonprofit (or cause) to donate $5, $10, $15 or $20 to for everyday you don’t #DoTheDamnThing. And, I’ll demand to see the receipts, by you posting a screenshot of your donation in the group.
  • Success: Having blog posts written, with the ideas out of your head and onto the paper.

**How it Works**

Facebook Group

The group will be capped at 10 folks, and we’ll all be in a super secret awesome FB group together. We’ll post google doc links, share our triumphs and mistakes, and create a supportive writing environment.

Folks will join from all over the USA (maybe outside it?), and you’ll leave the program with new friends from all over!

I’ll be SUPER ACTIVE in the group, checking it and replying to comments a minimum of 3 times a day. Picture long comment threads full of troubleshooting, brainstorming, whining about writing, etc.

Schedule

We’ll start the program by creating a blogging calendar, and assign writing/ideation/editing deadlines. For every day you don’t #DoTheDamnThing, you’ll donate $5 — $20 to a nonprofit or gofundme.

Donations? For not writing?

YEPPPP! Remember our little success formula from above? you will pick a nonprofit (or cause) to donate $5, $10, $15 or $20 to for everyday you don’t #DoTheDamnThing. And, I’ll demand to see the receipts, by you posting a screenshot of your donation in the group.

Pricing:

This program is sliding scale, $49 to $79 (payable here). which includes daily workshops/troubleshooting/and coaching from moi. Normally, something like this would cost $149, minimum, but I want to make this accessible!

Rules & Regulations

  • You can write all of your blog posts in a few days, and schedule them out/share them everyday.
  • Your blog post must be posted to the group and 1 social media channel every day
  • Once you start, you start. No take backs/refunds half the way through.

Learnings from Previous Program

8 Brave Souls™ completed my “10 Blog Posts in 14 Days” program in July. Over 50 blog posts were written, covering everything from adulting skills and feels, to #career posts to Harry Potter horoscopes. (You can view a comprehensive-ish list here.)

This program is different from others in that participants donated (anywhere from $5 to $20) for every post they didn’t write. Over $220 was donated to orgs and gofundme’s, helping participants put their money where their goals were, and incentivize them to write.

Here’s what I learned from the program:

  • Participants wanted MORE Facebook Live Videos of me talking about getting over and through writer’s block, quick and easy blog post ideas, etc. This time around, I’ll be doing a Facebook Live video a MINIMUM of every 3 days.
  • More Fun Ice Breakers: Participants wanted to get to know each other more throughout the process, and have icebreakers/fun things throughout the program
  • FEWER Blog Posts, Same # of Deadlines: Folks wanted a bit more time and workshopping to write #HeavyHitter emotional posts. So, we’re going from 10 to 8 blog posts
