February Classes

In second grade, I had to put together a costume for “Career Day.” And because I was, and still am, a sycophant of the highest order, I dressed up EXACTLY like my teacher, Mrs. Lysager.

Complete with black shirt and pants, and a chambray apron with three pens (red for grading, and 2 black pens for regular use), I even convinced my mom to buy the doodads you connect to glasses to wear around your neck.

I COMMITTED.

The thing is, I do enjoy teaching. I love helping people. It’s why I’m a coach. And last year I began offering group classes, as a total experiment, to see if I could make my knowledge (and success bullying ways) more accessible.

And it worked!

I’ve taught 6 classes via FB groups, with over 50 students. I enjoy the group dynamic (I practically live on social media), and I’m able to offer lower rates for group coaching. PLUS, my students are able to network with each other, going off into the world to create brand partnerships and freelance relationships after the course is over.

So, without further ado, here are the 3 courses I’m offering for the month of February. If there’s a course you were hoping I’d offer, but don’t see, drop me a line (brianne.huntsman@gmail) and if enough people request it, I’ll add it!

Course #1: The Freelance Dance

Are you trying to up your freelance hustle in 2018, but feel totally overwhelmed by where to start? This course is designed for social media marketers, writers, designers and other creatives. It’s not a fit for developers/engineers.

  • Tuesday, February 13: “What Should I Charge?” Figuring out what to charge, based on factors like taxes, what you currently make, and researching going rates.
  • Wednesday, February 14: “Creating Your Offering.” We’ll workshop 2–3 freelance “packages” for you to offer to clients.
  • Thursday, February 15: “Finding & Pitching Clients.” I’ll go through ~5 different places to find freelance clients, and I’ll walk you through creating a proposal, as well as discussing proposal templates.
  • Friday, February 16: “Contracts & Setting Expectations.” In this class, we’ll talk about how to CYA (Cover Your Ass), manage different clients and educate expectations.
