Let’s get ready to rock’n roll.

Okay, so I’ve been talking about launching this program for a while. At first, it was going to be “30 Blog Posts in 30 Days,” but after I (a grizzled marketing consultant) found that to be super challenging — and rewarding — I talked with a few interested folks, who all agreed that setting out to do “30 Blog Posts in 30 Days” would set themselves up for failure.

I love failure. But, I never encourage throwing oneself at something with the knowledge that you will fail.

So, after talking with more folks (FB Chat is my Slack, let me tell you) I designed the schedule further down. Basically, 14 days with 10 blog posts. From my blogging travails, I’ve learned that blogging is a muscle, and while the first few days are a pain in the ass, it’s super gratifying now to be able to #BustOut a blog post in less than 90 minutes.

What the heck am I supposed to blog about, Bri?

Good question. Blogging is inherently an act of taking up SPACEEEE (albeit on the internet), and is therefore a bit scary. Below are some types of folks that I think will get good value out of this program:

  • Creatives who know they should be blogging about their creative work (photography, visual art, makeup artists, hair stylists, barbers, etc) who feel super intimidated by blogging
  • Business owners on a tight budget that doesn’t leave much room to pay writers, who need to create content for their biz (ecommerce, consultants, coaches, etc)
  • People breaking into a new field who need to show that they have deep knowledge about the industry/job/company they want to break into
  • Activists who want to share their experience/cause
  • Folks who HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY, DANG IT.
Get your butt, in a chair, everyday for 14 days, and WRITE.

Pricing:
The Beta #DoTheDamnThing program is $50 USD (payable here), which includes daily workshops/troubleshooting/and coaching from moi, plus a Facebook group with ~10 folks doing the program. (Cap is 15, first come first serve.)

More on the Facebook Group // Your New Internet BFFs:
I’ll be SUPER ACTIVE in that group, checking it and replying to comments a minimum of 3 times a day. Picture long comment threads full of troubleshooting, brainstorming, whining about writing, etc.

BUT ALSO. Accountability is key here, so you will pick a nonprofit (or cause) to donate $5, $10, $15 or $20 to for everyday you don’t #DoTheDamnThing. And, I’ll demand to see the receipts, by you posting a screenshot of your donation in the group.

Schedule

We’ll officially start the program July 6 (I love Thursdays, don’t you?) with prep work starting July 3.

  • July 2 & July 3 (Prep): Picking a blogging platform and Bri’s help setting up
  • July 5 (Prep): Blogging Webinar! I’ll talk about how to structure your blog post, and a super easy “cookie cutter” method to follow.
  • July 6: BEGIN! Blogging topic list brainstorm and selecting your first 3 blog posts
  • July 7: Blog Post 1 & Troubleshooting
  • July 8: Blog post feedback/group work, select topic list
  • July 9–12: Blogging every damn day
  • July 12(BREAK): Take stock//check-in
  • July 13–19: BLOG, baby, BLOG

  • Get over the need for everything to be PERFECT. You’re going to dislike/hate some of the stuff you write, but you’re still going to post it.
  • Kickoff and support the habit of writing, daily.
  • Meet other passionate folks who are also pushing themselves out of their comfort zone.

Rules & Regulations

  • You can write all of your blog posts in a few days, and schedule them out/share them everyday.
  • Your blog post must be posted to the group and 1 social media channel every day
  • Once you start, you start. No take backs/refunds half the way through.
