What to Pack for a Trip to Hedonism II Resort in Jamaica | Advice & Reviews
If you’ve found this post, you’re probably doing a bunch of research, trying to figure out what the HECK to pack for Hedonism.
Currently, I’m planning my first trip to Hedo — and I have been feeling a bit overwhelmed! I decided to write this post to share a bunch of info on going to Hedonism II (what to pack, where to buy slutwear, how to book at Hedo, etc) and I’ll be updating this post as I learn new things.
Note: This post contains affiliate links, and I may earn a small 2–3% commission if you purchase something using my link. I’m not a jerk, and I only share links to what I am actually planning to buy or recommend.
What This Hedonism II Blog Post Covers
This post is organized with the following tips & advice:
- Recap of My Research (I’ve researched when to book, culture, traveling solo, rooms, etc)
- Hedonism II Packing List — Stuff for Hedo specifically
- Hedonism II Packing List — Regular Items for a Resort Trip
- Slutwear at Hedonism — Where to buy it!

Section 1: Pre-Work | **Best** Hedonism II Resort Travel Tips
After spending a lot (I mean, a LOT) of time looking for Hedonism resort reviews on Travelocity, Google Reviews, etc, I found the Hedonism Facebook group — lots of helpful info in there. 🥳
In that group, members recommended the book, “The Naked Truth about Hedonism II: A Totally Unauthorized, Naughty but Nice Guide to Jamaica’s Very Adult Resort.”
WOW, this book is SO HELPFUL!! Seriously, this book was full of helpful Hedonism reviews and advice. I downloaded it to my Kindle app (it’s also available on audio and paperback), and it really helped me understand the different reviews of Hedo I saw online.
Get the book by clicking HERE!
Seriously, this book was so freaking helpful! There’s a lot of resort stories and advice for staying at Hedo. In it, the author explains things like:
- What clothing to pack for Hedonism II (What people wear at lunch and dinner, swimwear to pack, etc)
- Room Types at Hedonism II (What side of the resort to stay on, ie nude/prude, noise levels, how some guests decorate, etc)
- Travel agencies to use when booking and discounts for Hedonism II
- Booking transportation to the Hedonism resort (taxis, buses, small plane, etc)
- Gratuity at Hedo
- Planning $$$ (Spending and budgeting for your trip to Hedonism Resort, etc)
- Hedo Culture: Going as a single person, part of a group, types of bodies on the nude beach/pool, etc
Seriously, GET THIS BOOK to plan your trip to Hedonism II! It made planning so much easier — and it helped me decide if Hedo was what I was looking for!
Best Time to Visit Hedonism II?
Turns out, there are different “seasons” at Hedonism II, and the different seasons determine how wild things get. ;). January seems to be quite the time 🍍, ahem.
You can look up when different groups travel to Hedo, as well as when groups arrive on the Hedo website under “Group Events.” Busy season is October — April.
Hurricane season is June — November, and it looks like rates are lowest in September, with a lot of deals and travel discounts in September. Hedo guests love “Heedoween,” which is why bookings kick up in October, even though it’s technically still Hurrican season. 🎃 👻
COVID-19 Restrictions
For info on documentation and COVID testing needed for travel to Jamaica, check out this website here from the Official Jamaica Tourism Board. I can’t vouch 100% for the info found here, but it seems to be the go-to place for info. 🌴
Book with a Travel Agency or Groups
One can absolutely book directly through Hedonism. For single rooms (no jacuzzi), it looks like travel agents have access to the best rates.
Besides booking a solo trip with a travel agent, there’s a few well-known travel agencies that book group trips that ANYONE can join.
It’s like a party bus, and you can join up with a group that’s going to get extra events, network and have someone at the resort who is a point of contact.
For folks going to Hedo for their first time, going with a group (through a travel agency) is a great way to go. That way, you have people you know at the resort — and details like transport to/from the airport are taken care of.
There are lots of travel agent reviews in the “unofficial” Hedonism Facebook group.
Also!! Be sure to get travel insurance!! Seriously!!
Section 2: Packing List for Hedo — Fun Items You **MUST** Bring to Hedonism!!
Hedo is like no other place, with its own traditions and fun. I’ve done a crap ton of research, so let me save you some time by sharing what I’ll be packing (in addition to the regular stuff, like sunscreen, that I know to pack for a beach vacation).
I’ve found that showing up and sharing items to be a great way to meet other people (ie extra sunscreen, pens, etc), so I tend to pack more items than others. Offer an extra lanyard, cup, sunglasses, temporary tattoo, etc! Don’t be creepy, and offer with zero expectation in return. Totally works!
- Wrist lanyard for room card key (I figure I’ll pack all 30 that come for $11.99, and then share with others and make some friends, lol). Hedo now has wrist lanyards, but some folks don’t like to wear these because they’re tighter and form tan lines.
- Pool raft with drink holder (I’m going to pack a single and double raft)
- Sharpie for the pool raft to write my name on it!
- Plastic mixed drink mug with lid (not required, but I want a lid on drinks)
- Temporary Tattoos (For flagging, ahem, and making new friends who also want a temporary tattoo!)
- Set of 8 Pack Sunglasses (I don’t want to lose my designer shades, so I’m ordering an 8 pack of sunglasses.. probably 2 of these, lol)
- Sidewalk Chalk (Guests like to write fun.. ;) messages on the sidewalk)
- Sand Castle Kit (Great way to make friends at the beach!)
- Door Decor // Visitors love to decorate their doors with a bit about them, so I’ll be hitting up a local party store to grab mine!
- Party Jewelry // I’ll also snag some party jewelry at the store (beads, glowsticks, etc) to share and meet folks.
- Adult Items, ahem
Section 2b: Packing List for Hedo — Regular Items
In this section, I’m noting what “regular” items I’m going to be sure to bring to the resort. Hedo II does have a boutique, so we’re not SOL if we forget something! I’ve linked what I’m buying to save you time! ❤
Again! How do we make new friends easily? Offer to give or share something with them. Chatting someone up in the hot tub can be intimidating, but if you offer up your spray sunscreen or another item — boom! Conversation starter!!
Just don’t be the creeper who offers to rub in the sunscreen, smh!
- Bug Repellent (Ah! Sand fleas!!)
- Spray Sunscreen
- Face sunscreen
- Lotion Sunscreen for Body
- Travel First Aid Kit w/ Tweezers
- Benadryl, Advil, Plan B // get at local pharmacy before trip
- Business cards (we love networking!) // I love moo.com for biz cards or Vista Print!
- Digital waterproof wristwatch with timer // (I’ll set a timer to remind myself to reapply sunscreen)
- Sun hats (1–2 fashion hats for sun protection and 1 hat for heavy rain that has a wide brim)
- Travel ziploc plastic bags to keep items dry at beach // These last longer than regular sandwich baggies
- White noise machine// I own THIS white noise machineand have traveled a ton with it. Love it!
- Ear plugs // I get the earplugs made for women, as my ears are smaller!
- Sewing Kit //
- Blister Pads // I’m going to be wearing FUN shoes!
- Electrolyte Powder//
- Snorkeling Gear? // I’m undecided on snorkeling, but I may end up purchasing a set of gear.
Section 3: Packing List — General Slutwear for Hedonism II
So, from the reviews and from the handy dandy unofficial Hedo travel guide, I know that Hedonism II is the place to wear all sorts of fun costumes!! Guests call these outfits “slutwear,” a sort of sex positive celebration. At Hedo, people wear things they would NEVER wear elsewhere.
Women regularly wear sheer clothing, fishnets, lots of cut outs, etc. It honestly reminds me a bit of a rave, with some of the outfits I’ve seen!
From my research, it looks like the strappier // more revealing the better – so don’t be afraid to get a little wild!
I’m plus size (size 18), so below I’ve shared where I shop for slutwear. All of these brands make both plus size and “straight” sizes:
- yandy: This is a GREAT place to buy a lot of sizes (XS-3X) lingerie, costumes, clubbing dresses and a variety of ~slutwear~ for Hedonism events and shenanigans ;)
- SHEIN: Brand has both club wear/dresses, sexy swimsuits and lingerie. Be sure to look at the size chart for EACH piece, as sizing varies. My go-to brand for string bikinis.
- Adore Me: Has swimwear and lingerie in XS — 3X
- ASOS: This brand has a variety of swim, lingerie and dresses that are perfect for Hedo. They also have a great mens section!
- Amazon: You have to use specific search terms (ie “strappy” or “revealing” or “sexy”), but there are a ton of options on Amazon. Sizing can be iffy, so I order a bunch and then return what doesn’t work.
Outfit Ideas for Theme Nights at Hedonism II
Okay, so the theme nights can change depending on when you book your stay at Hedonism, and here are some ideas on what to wear for different theme nights:
Sunday: Mermaids Love Seamen
The Hedo website tells us to pack costumes for mermaids, seamen, sexy sirens and the like!
Mermaid costumes usually come with a long skirt, which is probably a little bit too hot for the hot and humid Jamaican nights!
Instead, I’d go with a short mermaid-inspired dress, or maybe pack a clamshell bra or bustier to wear with a sarong!
**Monday: Jamaica Night
Looking online, folks dress in more revealing (ahem) attire, ranging from short dresses to lingerie ensembles!
There are clothing items with the Jamaican flag, but it feels weird (to me) to wear a flag, SO! My plan is go for a sexy two-piece set (probably in green), and hen add in earrings with all 3 colors.
I found these sets on Amazon.
**Tuesday — Glow Party
Ideally, I’d love to find a glow in the dark bikini for this night! If that doesn’t work, I’ll go decked out in a neon swimsuit.
I’m considering this swimsuit for that night — hopefully I’ll find something with a lot more straps!
**Wednesday — Neo-Victorian Fantasy
OK, this is a really cool theme — and kind of tough to dress for! I think the only way to do this one is to snag some Steampunk accessories!
They’ve combined this night with the one below!
**Wednesday — Fetish Night — Harness FTW!
Because Jamaica is HOT, I wouldn’t recommend choosing a faux leather look — it’s gonna be too freaking hot!
So, I plan on wearing a harness like the one below, likely with a black bikini or swimsuit (or maybe just pasties…?)
Shop this look HERE!
**Thursday — Toga Party — TBD!
For this event at Hedo, you won’t need to pack a sheet, lol. Instead, I recommend snagging some gold accessories. Add in some sparkle and glam, babe!
Shop these accessories here!
** Friday — Rockstar GALA
This event is a little more tough! I’d just pick your favorite decade of rock music. For instance, I’ll probs go with this 80’s outfit with a risque top!
Shop this look HERE!
** Saturday — Sports Night!
For this night, I’d either find a bikini that has the logo of your fave sports team. Alternatively, go with a sexy referee outfit! I’ve heard some party goers wear cheerleader costumes, etc.
Shop here!
** Sunday — School Girl
Ok, so this night is a liiiittle bit easier to decide on! Amazon has a PLETHORA of school girl costumes in a variety of sizes.
Shop here!
To Be Continued…
I’ll be adding to this post as I find out more details! Thank you for reading!
