#WhiteAllyBingo Resolutions
Reading about the death of Erica Garner felt painful. Especially at this time of year, especially given the mortality rates of black women, especially especially especially given the political shit show of 2017.
And, as my body positivity journey has progressed over the year (still working on it, idk), I thought it would be a nice “Fuck you!” to diet culture AND white supremacy to create a “White Ally Resolutions” bingo card for 2018.
This originally started out as a joke, “What if the free space was ‘White Tears’?” that turned serious. A tongue-in-cheek remark led to creating a bingo card on Canva (lol, using those Stanford #DesignSkills).
The goal of this bingo card is to answer the question, “What are specific new actions we white people can take in 2018 to help people of color?”
Aaaand to also bring a little humor into a heavy subject, encouraging people to print this off and hang up in their office, on their fridge or upload to Instagram Story or Snapchat when they accomplish something. This is a group effort, y’all, and positive social pressure is a good thing.
I hope in 2018 this bingo card helps you #Resist in small ways, everyday, and incorporate allyship into your daily life. I’ll be tweeting #WhiteAllyBingo as I check items off over at @the_huntswoman.
There are DEFINITELY more things to do than what’s on this bingo card, so feel free to make your own or, if you’re a person of color, make one for your white friends. ;)
